You Tube "The Human Body"

I have choose this You Tube video because I think that It is the most appropriate for  thing that I could find to relate to my unit plan. This video is very neat and informative. I would not use this video for my assignment, simply because I think there is no need for the video. When using You Tube videos in the classroom some of the cons that you can face is the fact that you tube is a public site and people from different parts of the world have access to your content.

The Title of my podcast is Integrating Technology. I did not download it I listen to it directly from the site. The name of the website is Teaching with Technology Podcast. My podcast speaker is campus.m4a.
A recent student have determined that the use of technology in the classroom is critical. Having technology in the classroom do increase students awareness on how to use new technology. Using technology in the classroom help students and teachers know how to search for reliable information online. I choose this podcast because this was the first podcast that I could locate that is appropriate to complete my assignment. I would recommend this podcast for others because, it provides us with important facts about why the use of technology is so important and also results from recent research and surveys.

Spreadsheets In the Classroom

A spreadsheet can be very helpful and have many advantages in a classroom. Students can use a spreadsheet to develop better thinking skills.Teachers also use spreadsheets to calculate grades, organize data, and make charts. Although, using a spreadsheet is easy to use and have many advantages it also have disadvantages. One of the main disadvantage of using a spreadsheet are some students that are not familiar with technology see the task of completing a spreadsheet as difficult.

Databases In the Classroom

Using a database in a classroom have many advantages. Some of the advantages of using databases in the classroom is that it makes stuff more organized and easy to find what you are looking for. Teachers can also use it to keep the children contact information on record also. I cannot think of any disadvantages of integrating databases in the classroom. Using this software will help students with their Research and Information Fluency to achieve the NET standard

Integrating Word Processing In the Classroom

There are many advanatges and disadvantages of intergrating word processing in the classroom. Some of the advanatges of using word processing in the classroom are you can use it to organize information with tables and graphic organizers, students can learn to insert objects and hyperlinks, and also type and edit their text. Some of the disadvantages to word processing in the classroom is students could become highly dependable on word processing and become complacent. To achieve the NETS for students standards students can use this software to demonstrate a sound understanding of technology Operations and the Concepts.

Mobile Devices

Using a mobile Computing Device in the classroom can have its advantages. Some of the advantages that having a mobile computing device for classroom activity is being able to keep in touch with your class assingments and do work in a virtual online class. Another,advantage is being able to immedialty locate information that you need to find to benefit you in the class. Using a mobile device in the classroom can have ir disadvantages, it can distract you from learning your assingment in class.

NETS

One of the NETS for students that I have picked are Creativity and Innovation. I think that this have been related to what I have learned this week. Completing my research activity allow me to enhance my thinking skills while gaining the knowledge and information that I need. This week I have been able to also come up with new ideas to complete my assignment. I can use this same knowledge that I have gained to use in the classroom.

Social "Delicious" Bookmarking

Creating the Delicious account was very easy. It didn't even take long to really create an account because, I already had a yahoo account. There was not anything that I didn't like about the site. I think that the site is very helpful and also something that I would use outside this course. If I was in a group project at FTCC I would use this bookmark to keep up with my peers in my group research. This site is a really helpful and beneficial way to share information, once you tag it correctly.

" My Retrospective analysis of a goal-oriented activity"

I think that our group wiki assignment went really well. The team that I worked with was awesome. Our goal was to do research on a blog. I think that we did a really good job working together to complete our task. Some of the main problems that we encountered as a group that I'm aware of is learning how to cite in MLA format and also how to load you tube videos. It is my personal believe that I did my equal part of researching to help contribute to my group success, however, I must say towards the end I did not play a active role. The only regrets that I have that might have hinder my group would have to be not being as active towards the end as I was in the beginning due to my work schedule. To have overcome this I should have developed a more better time management approach. For the next group project, I recommend that everyone that is assigned to the group play a active role and contribute. To ensure success the group should have really good communication.

"As Needed Reader"

I never been an avid reader who constantly read, however, I must say that I fell somewhere in the middle. Whenever I go to the library to complete an assignment I would look for a book that I find interest in and take it home and read it. My sister was a avid reader sometimes she would tell me about a good book and I would read it. Throughout the years my love for reading have changed. Well, I would not say that the love for reading have changed. I would just say that I no longer fall in the middle anymore. I am now a person that reads when she need to. That is sad and I am ashamed to even admit it, but it is the truth. I am working on time management so I could get back into reading again.

Group Collaboration and Problem Solving

We are still working on or wiki assignment. I am trying to still get the hang of our assignment.So far I have really got to speak with one out of four of our group members. She seems really friendly, knowledgeable, and hard working. Two of them including myself have contributed to the assignment, except for one. Working with others in a group have their advantages and disadvantages. I have not really learned any problem solving techniques. I must say that I have learned to ask my team mate for her opinion on certain things regarding the assignment to be able to complete my assignment. I have learned to just ask for her opinion on my own in order to complete our tasks.

Teaching Philosophy "Blog Assingment 2"

It it my philosophy that the early years is the most important in a child development.It is my role as a future teacher, co learner and as a facilitator to provide a child with the structure they need to grow. My children will also grow by using their imagination. My job is to get to know each child individually and give them the attention and love they need to excel.

It is my main focus that my children have fun while learning.I will encourage my students to succeed. As a future teacher I would provide age appropriate material that a child can learn from. I would set a weekly goal and if that goal is meet I would provide that child with rewards. As a teacher the rewards to my students would be a getting to choose something educational from the treasure box. The learning curriculum that I would choose to follow in the classroom would vary based on the age of the child, however, I would make sure that it is age appropriate.

As a teacher it is my goal to have a low student to teacher ratio. My classroom will be based on student- centered teaching. I want my students to ask questions if they don't understand; also I would engage in conversations with my students regarding educational topics.

Technology would play a big role in my classroom. As we approach the 21st century we a using more technology. I want my kids to be able to have an awareness of how to use technology. Some of the ways that I can do this is in my classroom I would use projectors, computers, tape recorders, television, and any gadget that will help my children get familiar with the basics of technology.

Ways of Learning

The elements that learner centered instructions should contain would be to have students to relate prior experiences about relevant material. Also, try to get the students background knowledge and interest about the related topic. I am not currently teaching a course, however, if was to design a learner centered activity for a course it will be to some up with a written assignments and to have my students brainstorm ideas and use their knowledge to have them come up with a written assignment using that topic.

The elements that knowledge-centered instructions should contain would be organizing instructional activities that matches with the students likes and background. Also, it deals with encouraging students to build up a expertise for better understanding of what they need to know. Two types of assessments that should be included in assessment-centered instructions are Formative Assessment and Summative Assessment. Two two assessments are different simply because, fomative measures learning through progress in order to encourage reflection and revision, and summatives is desineg to measure the results of learning.

Community centeredness is important to the environment because it helps to develop a safe environment where students can express the opinions that might be diff rent from the ordinary. It is also beneficial because, student get feedback on what they feel is important to learn regarding the course. What types of community-centered activities have you used in the past? Personally, I cannot say that I have been involved with any community centered activities in the past. So I cannot give any examples or explain what made them community centered.

You can evaluate you own instructions when and how you feel that it will be beneficial for you to do so.If I was tecahing a class I would say that my student would become self- evaluative. The information that I have learned was very informative and beneficial. I would use this information to enhance their learning by creating learning, centered, and community based environments.

My Goals

My first goal for this course is to be able to familiarize myself with the tools that I need to succeed in this course. I would have to say that I already know how to use computers to complete the tasks that I need to complete on a day to day basis. I would love to learn more about technology and find out anything that can benefit me in advancing in the future. I have chosen these goals because as we approach the 21st century we are now more depending on technology to live our day to day lives, so I would be helpful if I could learn more
